新年伊始，MLA+迎来了多个竞赛中标候选、入围的好消息。回顾过往一年，我们在设计领域不断深挖创意、寻找新灵感，保持思考的同时，也积极参与同行、跨界的观点交流与碰撞。走进校园、走进自然科普课堂，知识的分享与反馈过程也推动了我们在设计实践中的不断创新和进步。
At the beginning of the new year, MLA+ received multiple pieces of good news, being shortlisted and becoming candidates in various competitions. Reflecting on the past year, we consistently delved into creativity, sought new inspirations in the design field, maintained a thoughtful approach, and actively engaged in exchanging viewpoints with peers and across disciplines. Stepping into campuses, exploring natural science classrooms, the process of sharing and receiving knowledge has further propelled our continuous innovation and progress in design practice.

2024年01月25日，罗湖美术馆升级改造工程全过程设计结果揭晓，MLA+联合体从7位入围投标人中脱颖而出，经过方案评审委员会充分讨论和投票后，成为三位中标候选人之一。
On January 25, 2024, the comprehensive design results for the Luohu Art Museum's upgrade and renovation project were announced. The MLA+ team distinguished itself from the seven shortlisted bidders. Following extensive discussions and voting by the proposal review committee, MLA+ team emerged as one of the three selected candidates for the project.

The MLA+ team embraces a design philosophy that treasures old buildings and their ground value, akin to the care given to precious exhibits. They elevate the lower levels of new constructions, creating a void to vacuum-preserve and magnify the significance of the ground park. This initiative extends to the art gallery, the surrounding community, and even to Luohu, delivering a larger, more spacious, and inviting community ground public park.

2024年1月18日，竞赛资格预审会于广州市海珠区住房和建设局顺利举行。MLA+联合体于28家参赛申请单位（联合体）中通过遴选，成功入围。
On January 18, 2024, the competition qualification preliminary review was successfully held at the Housing and Construction Bureau in Haizhu District, Guangzhou. The MLA+ consortium successfully passed the selection process among 55 design firms and secured a spot in the final round.

Pazhou South District is located in the Pazhou core area of Guangzhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Experimental Zone. It is the intersection of the high-quality development zone along the Pearl River in Guangzhou and the Guangzhou Science and Technology Innovation Axis. It is adjacent to the Haizhu Wetland in the south and Pazhou International Convention and Exhibition Center in the north, and is located among many development hotspots.

Baisha River Area where the former Liuting Airport was located, is identified as one of the three sub-centers of Qingdao , defined as the center of international cooperation, the place of international talents, the destination of fashion consumption and the place of emerging industries. Territorial and Spatial Planning of Chengyang District (2021-2035) points out to focus on building the the Baisha River urban sub-center,which focus on the development of innovative services, international commerce, culture and other municipal services, drive the development of the great north shore, and serve as the comprehensive center for the Jiaodong Economic Circle.

东莞市中心城区“一心两轴三片区”建设现场指挥部召开了《“双轴”公共空间专项研究（含“双轴”街道景观概念设计）》前期工作专家咨询会（研讨会），邀请到了来自公共空间规划、设计、运营等领域的六位权威专家、学者及有关部门、镇街，共同参与研究和讨论。
The Dongguan City Center "One Core, Two Axes, Three Zones" Construction Command held a preliminary expert consultation meeting (workshop) on the "Dual-Axis" Public Space Special Research, including the "Dual-Axis" Street Landscape Concept Design. Six authoritative experts and scholars from the fields of public space planning, design, operation, as well as relevant departments and town streets, were invited to participate in the research and discussion.
曹睿芝建议，一是加深认识项目定位，明确项目类型是有景观思维的城市设计还是有城市设计思维的景观设计，同时明确项目的关注点、研究尺度等；二是考虑扩大对场地腹地的研究，背街里巷的公共空间才是人真正可以停留的地方；三是对公共空间类型按照要素属性进行分类研究，如土坡、围墙等封闭界面和建筑底商、公园、地铁站口、步行桥等开放界面，将发力点放在开放界面；四是细化研究，关注连续慢行、老小区停车问题等。
Ruizhi Cao suggested the following: First, deepen the understanding of project positioning, clarify whether the project is conceived with a landscape perspective in urban design or with an urban design perspective in landscape design. Also, define the project's focal points, research scale, etc. Second, consider expanding research on the hinterland of the site, as public spaces in backstreets and alleys are where people genuinely linger. Third, categorize and study types of public spaces based on elemental attributes, such as closed interfaces like earth slopes and walls, and open interfaces like ground-level commercial spaces, parks, subway station entrances, pedestrian bridges, etc., with emphasis on open interfaces. Fourth, conduct detailed research, focusing on issues like continuous slow traffic and parking problems in older residential areas.

2024年1月14日上午，福田区新时代文明实践中心内开展了自然科普课堂：你真的“见过”一座山吗？为参与活动的大小朋友们分享了人类与山之间的渊源，用一个个津津乐道的小故事将人类从发现山、探索山，到最后喜爱上爬山的历史串联起来。
On the morning of January 14, 2024, a nature popular science class titled "Have You Truly 'Seen' a Mountain?" took place within the Futian District New Era Civilization Practice Center. The class aimed to share the profound connection between humans and mountains with the children participating in the event. Using engaging and captivating stories, it wove together the history of humanity's journey from discovering and exploring mountains to eventually developing a love for mountain climbing.
吴若璟着重为大家科普了将深圳的山与城市连通起来的“深圳826全境步道”项目的由来与实施建设方案。“深圳826全境步道”是市民与自然万物共同营建和维系的826步道，在自然与城市的交点漫游，踏步连通深圳全境“脉络”，聆听“千园之城”深圳的自然与人的和谐之音。
Ruojing Wu emphasized on providing everyone with information about the origin and implementation plan of the "Shenzhen 826 hiking trail" project, which connects the mountains of Shenzhen with the city. The "Shenzhen 826 hiking trail" is an 826 trail co-built and maintained by citizens and the natural environment. It allows people to wander at the intersection of nature and the city, connecting the entire "network" of Shenzhen through footsteps and listening to the harmonious interplay between nature and humanity in the "City of a Thousand Gardens," Shenzhen.

「湖山之胜与山海连城」对谈
本次活动由深圳自然与历史研究者南兆旭主持，文史学者陈林（木木），香港米埔湿地自然保护区湿地项目负责人文贤继，《追随昆虫》的作者杨小峰一同阅读大地展开对谈。
The event is hosted by Nan Zhaoxu, a researcher in Shenzhen specializing in natural and historical studies. Chen Lin (Mu Mu), a scholar in literature and history, and Wen Xianji, the project manager for the Mai Po Wetland Nature Reserve Wetland Project in Hong Kong, engage in a discussion while reading the earth together with Yang Xiaofeng, the author of "Following Insects."
“大地的规划者”曹睿芝在杭州长大，如今在深圳工作，她推荐了两座城市她最喜欢的自然路线——杭州的茶园小径和深圳叠翠湖的溯溪小路。在她看来，深圳还是“一个少年”，有很多做事的机会，值得她与这座城市共成长。
"The Planner of the Earth," Cao Ruizhi, grew up in Hangzhou and currently works in Shenzhen. She recommends two favorite natural routes in the cities - the Tea Plantation Trail in Hangzhou and the Stream-tracing Path around the Cuihu Lake in Shenzhen. In her view, Shenzhen is still "a young city" with plenty of opportunities to get things done, making it worthwhile for her to grow and evolve alongside this city.

Under the guidance of the Urban Planning and Natural Resources Bureau of Shenzhen, the Shenzhen Contemporary Art and Urban Planning Museum has organized the second edition of the annual event "Co-create the Future: Public Education." This event includes the "Born by the Sea: Ocean City Planning Academic Forum." The forum, covering topics on ocean city planning in Europe, America, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, aims to explore the development trends and challenges of ocean cities while sharing the latest research findings and practical experiences.
柳淞馨分享了印尼三宝垄关于海平面上升、大面积水泛滥两大问题的应对路径，为如何转变传统的筑坝填海模式，打破供水、城市化、经济的负循环等问题，提供了“以水为谋”韧性城市水系统规划的解决思路。
Liu Songxin, shared the response strategies of the Samboja Lestari project in Indonesia to two major challenges: rising sea levels and extensive flooding. The presentation addressed how to transform traditional methods such as dam construction and land reclamation, break the negative cycle of water supply, urbanization, and the economy, and provided a solution-oriented approach to resilient urban water system planning, emphasizing the concept of "water as leverage."

2023年11月2日，香港大学景观建筑设计Studio迎来了中期成果汇报答辩。reMIX临界工作室合伙人Nicola Saladino、陈忱授课指导的“2060：IN-FILTRATED——预测西丽湖的碳中和未来”小组进行了设计汇报。Nicola Saladino、陈忱与评图嘉宾曹睿芝、成行、陆小璇、叶秋霞参与了本次评图工作。
On November 2, 2023, the Landscape Architecture Design Studio at the University of Hong Kong held a midterm progress presentation and defense. The design report was presented by the group led by Nicola Saladino, a partner at reMIX Critical Studio, and instructed by Chen Chen. Their project, titled "2060: IN-FILTRATED—Predicting the Carbon Neutral Future of Xili Lake," was the subject of the presentation. Nicola Saladino and Chen Chen, along with the jury members Ruizhi Cao, Xing Cheng, Xiaoxuan Lu, and Qiuxia Ye, participated in the evaluation process.

2023年12月10日上午，中国城市规划协会规划设计（境外机构）工作委员会以线下线上结合的会议形式召开了成立大会暨第一次工作会议。中国城市规划协会唐凯会长、谢盈盈秘书长和来自各个国家的26家规划设计境外机构代表参加了会议（14家代表线下，12家代表线上）。
On the morning of December 10, 2023, the inaugural meeting and the first working session of the China Urban Planning Association Planning and Design (Overseas Institutions) Working Committee, which was held in a combined online and offline format. The meeting was attended by Tang Kai, President of the China Urban Planning Association, Xie Yingying, Secretary-General, and representatives from 26 overseas planning and design institutions from various countries (14 representatives attended in person, and 12 representatives participated online).
